Service Description

Come enjoy a Pony Discovery Experience at Cougar Mountain Stables! Designed for young children and first-time riders, this hands-on experience introduces little riders to horses in a fun, safe, and age-appropriate way. Children will have the opportunity to meet their pony, learn basic horse safety, practice proper riding position, and develop balance and confidence while riding. Each experience is guided by our trained staff and includes instruction tailored to young riders. Our gentle ponies are carefully selected for their calm temperaments and enjoy helping children build positive first experiences around horses. More than just a ride, our Pony Discovery Experience helps children learn how to safely interact with ponies while developing confidence, coordination, and an appreciation for these amazing animals. Whether it is their very first time around horses or the beginning of a lifelong interest in riding, we strive to create meaningful memories and a positive introduction to horsemanship. Families are welcome to take photos and enjoy watching their child learn and connect with their pony in our relaxed outdoor setting. Participants should wear closed-toe shoes or boots and comfortable outdoor clothing.
